A downloadable game for Windows

Imagine a game in which the actions you take as a player impact the natural world around you. With this mechanic simply harvesting a resource can have a profound impact on other plants and animals in the environment. Battling monsters or predators can lead to pests, such as rabbits, to spread, uncontrolled by these same predators, wreaking havoc on the same environment you rely on.

With this mechanic seasons and weather take on a new meaning. In droughts, plants wither and disappear; animals die. In times of plenty, plants flourish and animals feast on the bounty. Dynamic Nature transforms the implications of weather and seasons. Furthermore, the entire game world changes too, altering the players experience with an ever changing environment.

The mechanic also has the ability to have profound impacts on a games economy. Where an environment is push to its limits, certain resources become scarce and their value increases with it.

The only question left to answer is: how will you manipulate the environment to get what you want out of it?

Please let me know what you think; how can you see this mechanic being utilised in a game; where do you believe there is most room for improvement?

I do not have any intention of turning this into a fully fledged game, mainly as I just don't have the time. That said I would love to see this mechanic be incorporated into a game by working with a larger team. If you have any interest in this mechanic I would appreciate engaging with you to build something great.
